The death occurred at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Friday, Aug. 28, 2009, of Walter Urban J. Rogers, of Summerside, aged 76 years. Veteran of the Korean War. Born in Indian River, he was the son of the late George Walter and Laura Ella (MacDougall) Rogers. Urban is survived by his daughter, Laura Ann Rogers (Matthew Levisen), Ontario, sisters, Anne (Jim) Hyde, Ontario, Lorraine (Cullen) Rogers, British Columbia, brothers, David (Pauline) Rogers, Ontario, Willard (Adeline) Rogers, Ontario, Roy Rogers, Saskatchewan, Glen (Bev) Rogers, Ontario, Gordon Rogers, Miscouche, and by a number of nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a brother, Preston Rogers. Resting at Moase Funeral Home, Summerside, until Wednesday, then to St. Paul’s Church, Summerside, for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Valley. Visiting hours Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. only. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated. On Tuesday evening, members of the Summerside Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion will hold a Service of Remembrance, at the funeral home, at 6:45 p.m.
