It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Leo James Furlong, age 88, from Plate Cove at the Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on May 23, 2011. Predeceased by his parents, Ellen and Patrick; brothers, William and John and sister, Cecelia. Leaving to mourn with many fond and loving memories are his wife, Theresa; sons, Dennis (Peggy) and Raymond (Crystal); grandchildren, Megan, Jessica and Carly; sisters, Bridget (Michael) and Catherine (Thomas) and other relatives and friends. Rested at St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church, Plate Cove from where the funeral service, officiated by Father David Joy, took place on May 26, 2011 with interment following. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Vardy's Funeral Home, Hickman's Harbour, Random Island.
