Peacefully at home on 28 May 2011 after a short illness, at the age of 80. Predeceased by her parents Amy Bailey and John Ryan and her brother Jack Ryan. She is survived by Frank, her husband of 55 years and her children David (John Cole) Bristol, UK, Janet (Bill Goodridge) Corner Brook, NL, Christine (Bruce Davies), Sarnia, ON. Louise was a much loved grandmother to James, Sarah, Christopher and William Goodridge; Andrew and Ryan Davies; and Maya and Joe Tune (Devon, UK). Louise also leaves her sisters, Daphne Callahan (Bill) and Connie Champagne (Eloi – deceased); brother Pat Ryan and sister–in– law Rosamund Ryan. Louise was educated at the Mercy Convent in St. John’s and from the age of 13 attended Mount Saint Vincent Academy in Halifax. She completed her nursing diploma at the Halifax Infirmary School of Nursing in 1953 and had a long nursing career of 40 years. Louise will be remembered for her independence, strong work ethic, generosity of spirit and steadfast commitment to her family and friends. Before retiring to St. John’s in 1993, Louise and Frank lived in many communities across Canada and she will be fondly remembered by numerous friends from east to west. Visitation will take place at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road on Monday, May 30th from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. and Tuesday, May 31st from 2 p.m. – 6 p.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, June 1st, 2011 at 9:30 a.m. from Corpus Christi Church, Waterfordbridge Road.
