Thelma Nowlan
NOWLAN, THELMA BEATRICE - Our hearts are grieving the loss of our dear mother, Thelma B. Nowlan, who died at the Moncton City Hospital on May 30, 2011. Thelma was born in Elgin on July 15, 1922 to Elizabeth and William Bannister. Elgin was home to her, where she was a member of the First Elgin United Baptist Church and the Women’s Missionary Society. She loved the Lord, and displayed it in the way she lived; she was always glad to welcome people into her home with a smile and a cup of tea. She will be missed and always loved by her sons: Brian, and Wayne (Vallory); her granddaughter, Natasha (Ryan); her sister-in-law, Josephine Hall; as well as by several nieces and nephews. Thelma was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Morris Nowlan, and her sister, Frances Mitton.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 1st from 7 to 9 pm; the funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 2nd at 11:00 am with Pastor James Hammond presiding, as per Thelma’s request, all in Armstrong’s Funeral Home, Petitcodiac. Interment will be held in the New Elgin Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the First Elgin United Baptist Church, or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
