O’Hara, L. Leora – 93, Wallace, Cumb. Co., passed away Friday, August 28, 2009 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Amherst. Born in Westchester Mountain, she was a daughter of the late Ira Trueman and Oressa Rushton. Leora was a member of the True Blue Lodge, the Richmond Helping Hand Club, the Richmond United Church and for many years was a trustee of the Richmond School. She supported community efforts for most of her life and was a former member of the IOGT. She loved to knit, crocket and do puzzles of any kind but her greatest love and joy was her family, to which she was greatly devoted. For the past two years she had resided at the White Birches Continuing Care Home in Amherst. Surviving are her daughters, Helen (Art) Foster, Amherst; Gloria (Jim) King, Richmond; Faye Reid, Malagash; sons, Roddie, Wallace; Douglas (Ginger), Wallace; Brian (Diana), Leduc, Alberta; grandchildren, Keith (Tracy) Foster, Kevin (Monica) Foster, Darren (Krista) Foster; Debbie (Ernie) Rolfe, Rhonda (Scott) Ferdinand; Linda O’Hara (Junior), Vicki (Ronnie) MacAulay; Dale (Christine) O’Hara; Brianna O’Hara; 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Sylvia Hunter, Fredericton, N.B.; sister-in-law, Clara Rushton, Miscouche, PEI; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, James Trueman O’Hara; companion, Robie W. Stevens; children, Katherine, Mary and Linda in infancy; granddaughters, Emma O’Hara in infancy and Michelle O’Hara; brother, Whitney Rushton; sisters, Lois Olga Palmer, Catherine Mae Shea; sons-in-law, Ron St.Croix, Ken Reid; daughters-in-law, Dianne (Keiver) O’Hara, Pauline (Potter) O’Hara. Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday, August 31, in Mundle’s Funeral Home, 204 Water St., Pugwash (243-2506), from where the funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 1., Rev. Leslie Jobb officiating. Burial will be in the Monument Hill Cemetery, Richmond. Donations in memory may be made to the Monument Hill Cemetery Fund or any charity.
