SURETTE, Clarence William – age 99, Nakile Home for Special Care, Argyle, Yarmouth Co., formerly of Ste. Anne-du-Ruisseau, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 15, 2018 in Yarmouth Regional Hospital with his family at his side. Born January 6, 1919 in Ste. Anne-du-Ruisseau, he was a son of the late Raymond and Margaret Surette. Clarence was a carpenter, having been self-employed for much of his career, having built many homes, as well as helping build École Ste. Anne-du-Ruisseau and Huskilson’s Funeral Home in Lockeport. He was also proud of having worked in Goose Bay-Labrador from 1951 to 1958 and he enjoyed telling stories about those times. He enjoyed reading the daily paper as well as doing word search puzzles. He is survived by his loving daughters, Carol Ann (Norbert) LeBlanc, Arcadia and Janice (Irvin) Moulaison, Amirault’s Hill, as well as by his grandchildren, Jean-Claude LeBlanc, Toronto; Réal Moulaison, Yarmouth and Ghislaine LeBlanc, Yarmouth. Aside from his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Marion, as well as by brothers Ernest and J. Abel Surette and a sister in infancy. The family received friends at H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, 29 Albert St., Yarmouth, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Tuesday with prayers at 8 p.m. A funeral Mass took place at Ste. Anne’s Catholic Church, Ste. Anne-du-Ruisseau on Wednesday, December 19 at 2:00 p.m., Father Albeni d’Entremont officiated. Interment followed in the parish cemetery. Donations in memory of Clarence may be made to the St. Anne’s Church Building Fund or to Nakile Home for Special Care or to a charity of choice. The family wishes to thank Dr. Baxter and Dr. Tom Muise and Dr. Roland Muise, the nurses and staff on 4-East at the Yarmouth Regional Hospital, the entire staff at Nakile Home for Special Care for the care and compassion they showed Dad and his family and the staff at Huskilson’s Funeral Home.
