Shane was born in Theodore, Saskatchewan to Victor and Helen Yaretz, the eldest of six children. He began his education on Texada Island, then in Kamloops - Valleyview Jr. Secondary and Kamloops Sr. High. He worked heavy equipment with his Dad's Construction Company and continued this line of work throughout his life. Shane was an ardent hunter and fisherman, enjoying many excursions with his Dad and brothers and in recent years with his son Steven. He also had a passion for snowmobiling, wining many trophies, until the loss of his Dad.
Shane will be greatly missed by surviving family, the mother of his children Angie Palarmo, his daughter Shawna and son Steven, his mother Helen, brothers Collin, Ken (Chérie), step brother Joe, sisters Sharlene (Grant), Nadine, Candice, and step sisters Kathy and Teresa, numerous nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins as well as many buddies and friends.
Shane was predeceased by his father Victor, stepfather Joseph, nephew Kenni and stepsister Lynn, also all his grandparents.

A Celebration of his Life will be held on Thursday, June 2, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. in the Schoening Funeral Chapel, 513 Seymour Street.
