Passed peacefully away on May 29, 2011, in the presence of her son, Vira Gertrude Guzzwell (nee Belbin), age 86 years. Predeceased by her husband Sydney (1983) and later partner in life, Capt. Thomas Anstey (2006), parents Robert and Lillian (nee Cook), sister Ruth (Rod Guzzwell), brothers: Edgar (Shirley) and Fraser (Gertie). Left with a lifetime of vibrant and cherished memories, son Harold (Michelle), beloved grandchildren: Catherine and Sydney, brother Douglas (Mary), best friend and sister-in-law Tillie Guzzwell (Fred), as well as a large circle of relatives and friends. A very special bond between the Guzzwell and Belbin families was created over the years by the marriage of 3 siblings from one family (Rod, Shirley and Sydney) to 3 siblings from the other (Ruth, Edgar and Vira). Very special thanks and appreciation to the staff of St. Luke’s Day program, the staff at St. Clare’s Hospital 4 and 6 west, and the wonderful team of the Palliative Care Unit, especially Gertie and Dr. Roger Butler. Cremation has taken place at Vira’s request. Family will be receiving visitors on Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Ave. from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will take place from Barrett’s Chapel on Wednesday, June 1, 2011, at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Mt.
