It is with great sorrow that I announce the passing of my mother, Mary Agnes Aucoin, a resident of Maple Hill Manor and formerly of Wood Avenue, New Waterford, NS, on Friday, August 30, 2009.
Aggie was born in Thorburn, NS on July 20, 1910, daughter of the late Daniel MacDonald and Mary MacInnis.
She is survived by an only son, Wayne, wife Madeleine of Tillsonburg, ON; two grandchildren, Jason Aucoin (Amy Falbo) of Sudbury, ON, Nadine Macey (Keith) and two great-grandchildren, Owen and Ashlyn Macey of Barrie, ON.
Besides her parents, Aggie was predeceased by her husband, Cornelius (Cornie) in 1982; her two brothers, Phonie MacDonald, John (Dude) MacDonald; sisters, Peggy McIntyre, Florence McKenna, Irene Blackwood, Rita Chiasson and their spouses.
Aggie was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
In accordance with her wishes, there will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place under the direction of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 380 Smith St., New Waterford, NS.
A funeral mass of celebration will be held on Thursday, Sept. 3, 2009 at 10 a.m. in the Parish Church of St. Leonard with Fr. Paul MacNeil officiating. Burial will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery, New Waterford. A luncheon will follow mass at the Knights of Columbus Hall, Plummer Avenue, New Waterford. All are invited.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Maple Hill Manor would be appreciated.
