We regret to announce the death of Dorothy Robertson, 86, a resident of My Cape Breton Home for Seniors, Howie Centre, formerly of Dwyer Street, Sydney Mines. Dorothy passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 30, 2009, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born in St. John’s, Nfld., she was the daughter of the late William and Alfreda (Sparks) Hunt.
Dorothy was predeceased by her husband, James Barclay Robertston; daughter, Sharon in infancy and her sister, Sarah. She is survived by her daughters, Marilyn (Al Martell), Cole Harbour, Linda (Frank Sutherland), Sydney Mines and Helen (Robert Eisener), Digby; sons, David, Florence and Curtis (Lisa), Halifax. Also surviving are grandchildren, Traci, Frankie, Carrie, Alanna, Ryan, Heather, Chad, Krista, Cameron and Emma; great-grandchildren, Kalin and Logan and by several cousins.
There will be no visitation. The funeral service will take place Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Grace Fellowship Church, Sydney Mines, with Rev. Rick Barnes officiating. Burial in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens, Sydney.
Arrangements are entrusted to Francis Funeral Home, Sydney Mines.
Family flowers only, donations in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia or the Kidney Foundation.
