STELLARTON - Christopher “Chris” Todd Bonvie, age 26, of North Foord Street, Stellarton, passed away on Saturday, August 29th, 2009 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of Preston Bonvie and Darra MacBeth.
Chris spent his early years in Westville having attended Westville High School and the OPP program in forestry. He was accepted to the NSCC for the A.P.L. program this fall. Chris had been employed with the Acropole and Sam’s Restaurants. He enjoyed time spent with his dogs and working with his hands. Chris’s greatest joy was being a dad to his daughter Rihanna Hope Bell-Bonvie.
Surviving are the love of his life, Stephanie Bell; his daughter Rihanna Hope Bell-Bonvie; his father, Preston Bonvie (Carol Silver), Westville; his mother, Darra MacBeth (David Higgins), Westville; brothers, Jeffery Bonvie (Katie Lawrence), Halifax; Shawn Bonvie (Ann Dooley), Stellarton; sister, Stephanie Bonvie (Louis Francis), Pictou Landing; maternal grandmother, Shirley MacBeth, Stellarton; paternal grandmother, Sarah Bonvie, Valley View Villa, Riverton; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by maternal grandfather, Victor MacBeth; paternal grandfather, George Bonvie; and cousin, Shauna MacBeth
The family will receive visitors from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday in the H.C. MacQuarrie Funeral Home, Stellarton. Funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. from Sharon St. John United Church with Rev. Charles McPherson officiating. Burial will be in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens.
