Mary Bender
Passed on: April 6th, 2011
We are saddened by the loss of our Mom, Mary Ellen Bender on April 6, 2011. Her passion was her family and her home. The farm at Keeler was where Mom and Dad raised their family. There was a lot of hard work which you never heard her complain about. She would work from dawn to dusk, doing chores both outdoors and indoors and in her spare time you could always find her at the kitchen sink making sure that no dirty dishes could be found in her house! There also was lots of fun and laughter and many a dance party that both Mom and Dad loved to do, with great homemade food stretched out on tables put together and the furniture moved to make room for old time dancing. We all have cherished memories of our farm life. They moved to Moose Jaw when they semi-retired from farming and bought the Imperial Apartment Block that they ran for over 40 years and a lot of the renters became good friends and would come and visit for coffee. Moms love for the outdoors was evident in the amount of time she spent working outside; loved swimming, boating, camping or just sitting outside in the evening breeze. She was an animal lover, especially all their dogs they had through the years: Cookie, Chico, Crisco and Kissy. Everyone that knew mom said that she was a sweetheart and she truly was. She had a smile and a thank you for everyone and was the most passive, unselfish person you could ever meet. Mom was always there for you, she lived her life by giving herself to others. We miss you lots mom. Predeceased by her parents, Edward and Elizabeth Paulson; husband Robert; daughter and son-in-law Audrey and Ron Inverarity, and sister Dori, Mary is survived by daughter Pearl (Don) Schlosser; son Gerry (Helen) and daughter Roberta (Neil) Pilsner; grandchildren Shelly (Kevin Myers), Dion (Laurie) Schlosser, Christopher (Tamara) Bender, Christina (Curtis) Potts, Tammy (Cory) Cozart, Les (Francine) Inverarity and Cody Pilsner; great-grandchildren Brenden, Kerry, Taylor, Breanna, Kiara, Alexander, Makenna, Christopher, Mathew, Andrea and Chaydin; great-great-grandchildren Isabella, Brooklynn and Kylee.
