It is with heavy hearts that we the family announce the passing of Merna May Moore at the Celtic Court Nursing Home on Tuesday, May 31, 2011.
Born in Newfoundland, she was the daughter of the late Wilfred and Louise (Chant) Templeman both of Bonavista, N.L.
She loved listening to Newfoundland music and being surrounded by her loving family.
Merna is survived by her loving husband, John; daughters, Donna Barter and Effie-May (Neil) MacLeod; sisters, Elsie (David) Penney; brothers, Lloyd (Donna) Templeman and Hedley (Stella) Templeman; four grandchildren, John Edward, Nicholas, Kayla and Cole; six great-grandchildren, Blair, Brandy, Justin, Jerret, Chase and Cameron. She will also be missed by her nephew, Johnny (Dianne) Templeman.
As well as her parents, she was predeceased by her son, John-Robert Moore in infancy, sister, Margaret (Fred) House, and brother, Howard Templeman.
Visitation will take place Thursday, June 2 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m at St. Bartholomew’s Church, Lousibourg. Funeral service will be held Friday, June 3 at 2 p.m. at St. Bartholomew’s Church with Rev. Glen Kent officiating. Interment to follow in St. Bartholomew’s Cemetery, Louisbourg.
