RAYMOND JAMES FAHEY

On May 18, 2011, we lost a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. Raymond passed away at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital Palliative Care Unit surrounded by his devoted family.

We, his family wish to take this opportunity to thank the many kind souls who sat with us, phoned, brought food, sent cards, charitable/monetary donations, emails, flowers, and gave us strength through this very difficult time.

We were overwhelmed by the love and support of our family, friends, neighbours and co-workers.

To Ray's sister, Harriette and her husband, Russell who "lived" with us in Ray's room the last weeks of his life and who shared so many memories and stories with us. To Dr. D'Intino and her staff in Pallliative Care, who let us make Ray's room a family gathering every last day. To Dr. Paul MacDonald and the nurses and staff of CCU, thank you for your kindness. To Ray's family physician, Dr. Chris Lewand, we thank you for your genuine care and concern for Ray and for your visits in the hospital.

To the Cape Breton Post and staff, especially Steve Wadden who privided a personal generous contribution to Ray's memory.

Carrying Raymond on his final journey was son Dale Fahey, grandsons, Shayne Burke, Taylor Burke, son-in-law, Bobby Burke, friend Brian Yhard and neighbour Everette Carroll, thank you for doing so with such dignity and pride.

To granddaughters, Ashley Brown and Lenaya Burke for their beautiful readings, Ray would be so proud. To eldest son Mickey for his heartfelt and moving eulogy which brought both a smile and a tear to our eyes.

Finally, to Sheldon Chant and staff of Chant's Funeral Home, you were the glue that held us together and so respectfully and patiently guided us through the process of saying our final
good-byes to Raymond.

If we have missed anyone, please know that every gesture and act of kindness did not go unnoticed and was greatly appreciated.

Raymond touched many people's lives though his photography career and his memory will live on through his many beautiful photos.
The Fahey Family
