Yvon Cormier
CORMIER, YVON - Yvon B. Cormier, 92, of Moncton passed away on Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at the Moncton Hospital following a lengthy illness. Born February 11, 1919 in Saint-Anselme, he was the son of the late Edouard and (Eva LeBlanc) Cormier. Yvon was a retired businessman and realtor. He served overseas with the North Shore Regiment during W.W.2, and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Moncton Branch No.6. He is survived by one daughter: Linda Ermen (Ronald) of Grand-Barachois; one daughter-in-law: Marie Cormier of Summerside, PEI; five grandchildren: Roderick “Duke” Cormier, Jason Cormier, Angela Fullerton, Derek Ermen and Dawn Ermen-Cormier; nine great-grandchildren: Max, Josh, Hannah, Luca, Matteo, Zoe, Ava, Seth and Emma; two great-great-grandchildren: Mitchel and Cobain. He is predeceased by his wife, Lydia (MacCarthy) Cormier, his son, Roderick; two sisters: Corinne Savoie and Alfredine Blacklock.
There will be no visiting hours. The funeral mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Assumption Cathedrale, Moncton, Monday June 6, 2011 at 11 a.m. Interment will be in the Frenette Funeral Home Columbarium. In memory of Yvon, a contribution to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated. Cremation arrangements under the direction of Frenette Funeral Home, Moncton (858-1900).
