James Allan Sutherland
Age 81, of Beaver Bank, passed away peacefully on February 18, 2019 in the Halifax Infirmary, QEII.
Born in Glace Bay, August 12, 1937, Al was a son of the late Allan MacVicar and Margaret (Fiset) Sutherland.
Al was employed with Environment Canada for over 30 years. In his career he held positions in several Provinces until Halifax where he managed the technical staff of the Atlantic weather offices. Dad was an avid bingo player for many years and will be dearly missed by his bingo friends, especially Wendy.

Survived by daughters, Mary (John), Port Hawkesbury, Joan (Stephen) (Raymond), Antigonish, Paula, Fall River; grandchildren, Lacey, Slave Lake, AB, Erica (Mark), Debert; great-grandchildren, Danica and Lucas; sister, Camilla Dickie, Oxford; brothers, Chester (Marilyn), Glace Bay, Elwood, Telkwa, BC, Arthur (Jessie), Ottawa, ON; several nieces, nephews and extended family.
Predeceased by the love of his life, wife Theresa; sons, Dennis and Allan and an infant daughter.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 21 from 7-9 p.m. in Atlantic Funeral Home, 125 Sackville Drive.
The funeral Mass will take place on Friday, February 22 at 1 p.m. in St. John Vianney Church, 4 Beaver Bank Rd. Burial in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. All are welcome to attend a reception in the church hall following the burial.
