KEDDY, David Owen Rothwell, At the age of 79, of Wilmot NS, passed away at home in the early morning of Feb 24, 2019. Born in Saint John, NB, Dave was a son of Dr. George W.A. and Muriel (Rothwell) Keddy. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his younger brother, Geoffrey. In Dave's younger days he was involved with Scouts Canada in Saint John NB, achieving the Queen's Scout Award. He was involved with Scouting in Greenwood and Melvern Square. Dave was always available to teens to provide guidance to bring out their talents. Dave joined the Canadian Armed Forces in 1958. He served 6 years at CFB Summerside, PEI, 4 years in Lahr and Baden, Germany and his last posting at CFB Greenwood, where he retired as a Sergeant in 1989. At CFB Greenwood he worked in the Radar Shop, Torpedo Shop, on planes as well as in Quality Assurance. During his military career he received 4 separate Suggestion Awards for his suggestions that were implemented to improve the efficiency of DND. Dave was well known as a genius in electronic repairs (Acadian Audio) for the Annapolis Valley and beyond. He was also called a Jack of All Trades and he always had a 'Plan B' in place. He was also into Real Estate until downsizing and wintering in Florida. Summers were spent camping, attending Bluegrass Festivals and travelling with the Scotian Roamers Chapter of the Family Motor Coach Association. Dave was a member of Royal Canadian Legion Kingston Branch 98. David is survived by his devoted wife of 55 years, Marie-Anne; loving sons, Brian (Colleen), Michael (Heather), Jonathan (Kenzie); grandchildren Jessalyn, David, Kelsey, Kaelyn and great-grand-daughter Emma; brothers, George (Sue Ellen), AB; Dr. John (Margret), Fredericton, NB and sister, Christina (Tim), Toronto, ON. In keeping with Dave's wishes, a cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will take place at a later date (to be announced). In lieu of flowers a donation in David's memory may be made to VON Annapolis County Branch or Diabetes Canada. Arrangements have been entrusted to Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St. (902) 825-3448.
