
Colette Peirce

Colette died peacefully with family at her side, Saturday night, February 23, 2019. Many who loved her were able to say their goodbyes. Colette’s passing is felt as a deep loss to those who were touched by and had the privilege of knowing and loving this extraordinary Soul
Colette is predeceased by her loving husband, Don.
She was a beautiful and special mother, adored and beloved by her children whom she leaves behind, Nicole Peirce (Alain Farmer) and Drew Peirce (Chelsea Cobill) as well as her cherished grandsons, Ethan Farmer and Logan Peirce. Colette is also survived by her brother, Earl McKinnon; sisters, Valerie McKinnon, Coreen Stoliar and Sharman Glynn; sisters-in-law, Maureen McKinnon and Vera Cameron; brothers-in-law, Gordon Cameron and Tony Glynn. Colette leaves behind many nieces and nephews who carried a special place in her heart.
Colette is predeceased by her parents, Marguerite Merlin and John McKinnon; her younger brother, Leroy McKinnon, as well as her brothers-in-law, George (Butch) Stoliar and Sandy Hickey.
Colette, born March 25, 1943, was originally from Glace Bay, Nova Scotia and moved to Ottawa from Edmonton where she met her husband Don. Colette was a nun with the Sisters of Charity for nine years in Halifax and Edmonton; she loved singing and dancing and was always on the lookout for fun; she was a lover of learning all of her life, a school teacher, a social worker with the city of Edmonton and a mental health worker with the Ottawa Public School Board. Colette retired with the OCDSB in Ottawa as a school social worker. She loved working with children and families and was a healer, protector and teacher for all of us who needed her guidance and help.
Friends will be invited to attend a Memorial Service at the Pinecrest Remembrance Center, 2500 Baseline Road, at a time to be announced later this spring.
