It is with sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Martin Lomond, age 70, on Thursday, March 7, 2019.
Born in North Sydney on December 26, 1948, he was the son of the late George and Rita (Forrest) Lomond.
Martin was known for his fishing skills, and he enjoyed picking blueberries. He was a gentle soul who had a big heart, and helped a lot of people.
He will be lovingly remembered by his sisters, Doris, Georgina (Derrick) and Brenda (Denis; his brothers, Wayne (Catherine), Eric, Gerald (Denise), Wesley (Pamela), and Ben, and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Martin was predeceased by his siblings, Carol Ann, Calvin and Alexander, and brother-in-law, Stanley.
Visitation for Martin Lomond will take place on Monday, March 11, 2019, from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. in J. M. Jobes Funeral Home, Sydney Mines, with a prayer service in the funeral home at 8:30.
