Pearl Evangeline TRIFF

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Pearl Evangeline Triff, age 91 of Amherst, announce her unexpected passing on Sunday March 10th, 2019, at Centennial Villa in Amherst. Born in
Amherst NS, she was a daughter of the late Warren and Thirsa (Blenkhorn) Ayer. Pearl graduated from the Ottawa Civic Hospital Nursing School as a Registered Nurse in 1950. She joined the Canadian Army Medical Corp as a nursing sister and served during the Korean
conflict. After moving back to Amherst in 1965, Pearl worked for 27 years in the Maternity Department at the Highland View Regional Hospital until her retirement in 1992. She was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Br. #10, Amherst as well as the Lorneville United
Church. Pearl was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Pearl will be lovingly remembered by her sons Jim (Helen) of Brookdale and David (Glenda) of Halifax as well as daughter Dodie (Gary) Davidson of Tidnish; eight grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Myrell in 1996, brothers Noble, Leslie, Perry, sisters Dorothy Adams, Lillian Faith, Hilda McManaman and Freda Waterlot as well as a grandson in infancy. Funeral service will be celebrated at a later date from Campbell’s Funeral Home, 98 Church Street, Amherst NS. 902-667-9906. Pearl will be laid to rest beside her husband, Myrell in the Leicester Cemetery in the spring. Memorial contributions in Pearl’s memory can be made to the CRHCC, Palliative Care Unit, Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 10 or a charity of your choice.
