Passed peacefully away in the presence of his loving family at Health Sciences Centre on Sunday, March 10, 2019, Harry Robert Whitten, age 79 years. Predeceased by his parents Peter and Ellen Whitten; his mother and father-in-law Agnes and Dennis Roche. Leaving behind to celebrate his life are his wife of 48 years Joan (nee Roche); his daughters Michelle (son-in-law Curt) and Tanya (son-in-law Chris); his precious grandchildren Fiona and Liam whom he loved dearly; his sister-in-law Mary Whitty (Jimmy, deceased); brothers-in-law Wayne Roche (Gertie) and Anthony Roche (Mary, deceased); lifetime friends Bill and Minnie Coefield; special neighbour Helen Simms; special friends Bill Jenkins and Harry Mercer; grandnephew Nathan Rideout who came to see him every Thursday when he was home; special nieces Roxanne and Melissa Roche;; His roommate of two months at Chancellor Park, Bill O'Shaughnessy and to all the staff for their care and compassion given to Harry during his stay; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and cousins all over the world. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation on Tuesday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will take place on Thursday, March 14th, 2019 at 10 a.m. from Mary Queen of the World Parish. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Flowers gratefully accepted, or donations may be made to the Parkinson’s Society, Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of one's choice.
