RAYMOND JAMES FAHEY
CARD OF THANKS
Raymond James Fahey
On May 18, we lost a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. Raymond passed away at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital Palliative Care Unit
surrounded by his devoted family.
We, his family, wish to take this opportunity to thank the many, many kind souls who sat with us, brought food, sent cards, memorial/charitable
donations, flowers who gave us strength in our time of sorrow.
To Ray’s sister, Harriet and her husband, Russell who “lived” with us in Ray’s room in Palliative Care and shared so many memories, stories and pictures with us. To Dr. D’Intino and her staff in Palliative Care for their care and for allowing us to make Ray’s room a family gathering every day. To Dr. Paul MacDonald and staff of CCU we thank you for your genuine care and concern for Raymond. Thanks is also extended to family physician, Dr. Chris Lawand for his continuing care and visits in the hospital. Thanks is extended to Dr. Pahil, Tom MacNeil, nurses and staff of the Cancer Care Unit for their support during Ray’s short time there.
To Cape Breton Post management and staff, thank you for your support and understanding during Ray’s illness and passing. We particularly want to say thank you to Cape Breton Post Photographer, Steve Wadden, who provided such a personal contribution to Ray’s memory.
To the pallbearers who carried Ray to his final resting place so proudly, son Dale Fahey, grandsons Shayne Burke and Taylor Burke, son-in-law Bobby Burke, and dear family friends, Brian Yhard and Everette Carroll.
The readers, Raymond’s granddaughters, Ashley Brown
and Lynaya Burke for their touching readings.
To eldest son, Mickey, who touching eulogy brought both a smile and a tear
to our eye and so personified who Raymond was to us all.
Finally, to Sheldon Chant and staff of Chant’s Funeral Home, you were
the glue that held us together and so respectfully and patiently guided us
as we said our final good-byes to Ray. Thanks as well to soloists Donnie
Campbell and Aaron Lewis for their beautiful songs during the memorial service.
If we have missed anyone, please know no kind gesture went unnoticed.
Ray touched many lives in his long career as a photographer and his memory will continue to live on through his photos.
The Fahey Family
