BELDING, MARION I. – It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Marion Isobel Belding of Chance Harbour, wife of Lawrence J. Belding, who went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, June 02, 2011 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born at Long Point, New Brunswick on May 15, 1924, she was a daughter of the late Elmer and Etta (Sprague) Flower. Marion taught school for eight years, and also worked at Point Lepreau for ten years. She was a member of Calvary Temple, and loved flower gardening, being known for her beautiful dahlias. In addition to her husband of 60 years, Marion is survived by her children, Kent Belding (Twilha Greer) of St. Martins, Margo Barrett (Rev. Gary Barrett) of Halifax, and Carmen Belding (Rosa Stojanovick) of Toronto; grandchildren Angela, Amber, and Brandon Belding and Meredith Barrett; a great granddaughter, Julianne; a sister-in-law, Irene Flower of Saint John; two nephews, Lorne Flower (Mary) and Wayne Flower; sisters-in-law, Inez Mawhinney, Alda Belding, Barb Belding Sabean, special fiends, brother and sister-in-law, Garnet and Pat Belding and several Belding nieces and nephews. Marion was predeceased by a brother, Donald Flower, and a sister, Mildred Flower.
Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Saturday, June 4, 2011 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. The funeral service will be held from Brenan's Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, June 5, 2011 at 2:00 PM. Following the service a reception will be held in Brenan’s Reception Centre. A private family interment will take place in Chance Harbour Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to any charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
