BRAZIL, Edith May (nee Atkins) – Age 88 years of Bell Island, passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Complex on Friday June 3, 2011. Predeceased by her husband Tom, her sisters Laura Kavanagh, Emma Boone and her precious great-granddaughter Alice Gauthier. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her children: Linda (Gord) Pendergast, Cambridge, ON, Tom (Sharon), Kemptville, ON, Gerald (Madonna), Bell Island, Trish (Dan) McIsaac, Edmonton, Alberta, Dave (Ginny), Bell Island, Joe (Valerie), Calgary, Alberta; her sister Mildred Pitts, Bell Island; 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, as well as a number of nieces and nephews. A special thank you to Lori Hann, Mom's Guardian Angel and to the medical team and nursing staff of 4 North A for the outstanding care and comfort they extended to her during her illness. Resting at Pendergast's Funeral Home, Bell Island on Saturday, June 4 and Sunday, June 5 from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM. Funeral Mass Monday, June 6, 2011 at 11 AM from St. Michael's Church with interment to follow at St. Michael's Cemetery, Bell Island. Donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Diabetes Association.
