The death occurred at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Monday, August 31, 2009, of Mildred Champion, R.N., of Summerside, aged 78 years. Born in River Hebert, N.S., she was the daughter of the late Henry “Harry” and Margaret (MacAleese) Stewart. She is survived by her husband, Keith Champion; children David Champion, Summerside; Nancy (Dr. Ian) Moore, Charlottetown; Carla Champion (David Keating), Kingsport, N,S,; grandchildren Joanna Champion, Calgary, Alta.; Chelsey, Lindsay and Tyler Moore, Charlottetown; Stella and Abbie Champion-Keating, Kingsport, N.S.; sisters Ruth (Danny) White, River Hebert, N.S., and Margaret Rose (Bruce) Erickson, Fortune Cove. Predeceased by her brothers, Newton and Alexander “Sandy” Stewart. Resting at the Moase Funeral Home, Summerside, until Friday, then to Trinity United Church, Summerside, for funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Interment in People’s Cemetery, Summerside.
