SUTHERLAND-PATERSON (Hodge), Dorothy - 78, Truro, passed away Friday, June 3, 2011, in Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born December 13, 1932, in Truro, she was a daughter of the late Edward “Ted” and Helen (Simpson) Hodge. Dorothy was the owner of Kerrybrooke Hair Salon for many years and most recently, Kerrybrooke Farms (blueberries). For a time, she was also involved with the deaf community. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be missed dearly. Dorothy is survived by her husband of 19 years, Ronald T. Paterson; her children, Sonja Halverson, Shelley Duvall, Truro; Don (Angela) Sutherland, Vancouver, British Columbia; step-children, Kim (Mark) Cameron, Ottawa; Jamie (Elizabeth) Paterson, Truro; grandchildren, Tanya, Suzanne, Sally, Simon, Sheri, Liam, Claire; ten great grandchildren; niece, Tammy. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, Wayne Hodge; Charlie in childhood; a husband, Donald A. Sutherland. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall ~ Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where the funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday, June 7, 2011, Reverend David Lutes officiating. Reception will follow. Private family interment in Watson Cemetery. Family flowers only.
