Passed peacefully away August 30, 2009 at the Dr. Hugh Twomey Health Care Centre, Botwood at the age of 98. She was formerly of Buchans. Predeceased by husband, William Carter; son, Winston Carter, also daughters-in-law Florence and Shirley. Left to mourn are sons, Cyril (companion, Flo), St. John’s; Don, Buchans; Augustus (wife, Laura), St. John’s; Barry (wife, Joan), Grand Falls-Windsor; daughters, Yvonne (husband, Joe); Hameon of Botwood; Olive (husband, Art) Patey of Grand Falls-Windsor; Ula (husband, Bill) Turner of Grand Falls-Windsor; Faith (husband, Gerald) Champion; of Grand Falls-Windsor; and also leaving to mourn half brother Richard Wells (Lydia) of Exploits Island; 23 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Major Collins conducted funeral services at the Salvation Army (Botwood). Interment was at St. James Anglican Cemetery, Botwood. Funeral arrangements were conducted by Hoskins Funeral Home.
