JONES, DONALD "DON" M. - Donald “Don” M. Jones, 83, of Salisbury, with his loving family at his side, passed away peacefully at the Moncton Hospital on Friday, June 3, 2011. Born in Sunny Brae, he was the son of the late Rupert and Beulah (Colpitts) Jones. Don was retired from Canada Cement, Havelock (34 years service), was a member of St. James United Church, former elder and choir member in Petitcodiac and attended Grangeville Baptist Church where he was a former choir member. He was past president of the NB School Trustees Association and former building inspector for the village of Petitcodiac. Don enjoyed camping, travelling, bowling in the town league in Petitcodiac and with the cement plant team, Sunday drives in the country and listening to country music. Don will be sadly missed by his loving wife of over 58 years, Ruth (Brown) Jones, his children, Nancy MacArthur (Everett) of Grangeville, Leslie Jones (Tina) of Berry Mills, Edward Jones (Shelley) of Salisbury and Sandra Cameron (Thomas) of Sussex; eight precious grandchildren; sisters, Irma Trites and Jean Knowlton of Moncton; sister in law, Evelyn Jones (Lloyd) of Riverglade; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Elsie; brothers, Frank, Earl, Norman, Claude, Lloyd and Clifford.
Visitation at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995), Monday from 6:00pm to 9:00pm. Funeral Service to be held at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home Chapel, Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at 1:00pm with Dr. Leo Gallant (nephew) officiating. Interment, Grangeville Baptist Church Cemetery.
