Questa Layton
LAYTON, QUESTA MAE - 1920-2011 - Questa Mae Layton, 91, of Hillsborough, went to be with her Lord and Savior on June 4, 2011, she passed away peacefully at the Moncton Hospital with her family by her side. Questa was born in Hillsborough on January 12, 1920 the daughter of the late Edward and Laura (Steeves) Irving. Questa was a homemaker and she loved every minute spent with her family. She was a woman of great faith and set a true example to all through reading her bible and praying daily. She was an active member of the First Hillsborough Baptist Church, having sung in the Silver Chords and also volunteered in the church office for several years. She was a lifetime member of the NB Women's Institute and the Hillsborough Women's Institute. Questa was known throughout the community as having a very positive attitude and she could encourage anyone. She just had a way of caring and helping and knowing what to say, with the help of her bible. She enjoyed gardening, bird watching ,reading, and she was very gifted in public speaking. Questa would want everyone to remember her for her faith in the Lord and leave this message for her loved ones " Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths." She will be deeply missed by her daughters, Faye Parker of Hillsborough, Jean Gill (Neal) of Bedford, NS; sons, Gary Layton (Marjorie) of New Scotland and Frank Layton (Cheryl) of Albert Mines; treasured grandchildren, Greg Layton, Cora Parker, Susan Smith, Sharon Layton, Andrew Gill, Whitney Rodgers and Lauren Steeves; cherished great grandchildren, Dylan, Colby, Wyatt, Jack and Ella; sister, Aletha Jonah (Harold) of Hillsborough; brothers, Paul Irving (Edith) of Riverview and Guy Irving (Hazel) of Hillsborough. She will also be missed by several nieces, nephews and by her church family. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her beloved husband, John "Jack" Layton, grandson, Kevin Parker and sisters, Hazel, Marion and Frances.
She will be resting at the Albert County Funeral Home with visitation on Monday evening from 7 to 9pm. The funeral service will be at the First Hillsborough Baptist Church on Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at 2:00pm with Rev. Dean MacDonald officiating. Interment will be held in the Grey's Island Cemetery, Hillsborough, NB. Following the service the family will be meeting for further fellowship and for refreshments in the Church Life Center. Family flowers only please, donations to the First Hillsborough Baptist Church Building Fund or to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
