Bessie Morrison

We, the family of Bessie Euphemia Morrison, regret to announce her passing on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney. Born October 29, 1931 in Stirling, she was the daughter of the late Matthew and Eva (MacDonald) MacDonald.
Bessie was employed in the Assay Office of the Stirling Mine until she married and started her family. She was a member of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church in Framboise, as well as secretary of the Framboise Seniors.
Bessie is survived by her daughters, Donna (John) Hayes, Sarnia, ON and Shirley Morrison-Hawes (Walter Hawes), Ottawa, ON; sons, David (Evelyn Burke) and Douglas (Sarah), both of Stirling; grandchildren, Brian (Alaina), Carolyn, Kelsey, Devon, Jessica, Jasmine, J.D. (Scott), Chris (Roxanne), Matthew, Howard (Josie) and Nathan (Shelby); great-grandchildren, Rebekka, Madison, Maya, Jonathan, Talia, Lexi and Hayden; sister-in-law, Mamie MacMaster.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Melvin and stepfather, Rannie Morrison.
Visitation will take place at Sydney Memorial Chapel on Friday, April 26 from 5-8 p.m. Funeral service will be held at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Framboise on Saturday, April 27 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Robert Lyle officiating. Interment in St. Andrew's Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
