Nancy Anne (MacDonald) MacAskill
It is with deep regret that we announce the peaceful passing of Nancy Anne (MacDonald) MacAskill, age 78, on Wednesday, May 1, 2019, at Harbourstone Enhanced Care, Sydney.
Born in Sydney, she was the daughter of the late Roland and Mary (Myles) MacDonald.
In her younger years, Nancy worked for Eastern Light and later at Cape Breton Battery, as well as a personal care worker. Prior to her illness, she enjoyed attending harness racing to watch the family’s horses race.
Nancy is survived by her husband, John “Beaver” and daughter, Keri, Sydney. She is also survived by her brother, Miles (Donna), Guysborough. Nancy will be missed by her sisters-in-law, Hattie MacAskill and Chris Chiasson, as well as brother-in-law, Murdock (Marilyn) MacAskill.
We would like to thank the staff at Harbourstone Enhanced Care, especially the staff of Steelworkers Lane for the excellent care Nancy received during the 14 years she was a resident.
Visitation will take place at Sydney Memorial Chapel on Sunday, May 5 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.
Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Monday, May 6 at 2 p.m., with Pastor Ian Crooks officiating. Interment in Hardwood Hill Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Cancer Patient Care Fund or to a charity of your choice.
