JACKSON, Margaret Dorothy – age 91, Yarmouth, passed away peacefully at Yarmouth Regional Hospital on Friday, May 3, 2019. Born November 9, 1927, she was one of ten children born to Madeline (Muise) and John L. Mallett. Margaret was a very kind and generous lady. She enjoyed hand sewing despite her failing eyesight. She dressed dolls for needy little girls, some as far away as Haiti. Margaret is survived by her daughter, Marsha O’Hanley (David Doucette), South Ohio; a son, Jim Mallett (Eileen), Cole Harbour, and their children Ainsley (David) Sears, Alberta and Emily Mallett, Dartmouth. She is also survived by her devoted grandson, Michael D. Mallett (Lisa Hanf) and their son, Conner Mallett. Also surviving are her sisters, Barbara Mallett and Beatrice Cottreau, both of Yarmouth; Martha Copeland, Bridgewater; Shirley (Joe) Welsh, Toronto and a brother, George Mallett, Bedford, along with many nieces and nephews. Margaret also leaves behind her extended family at New Beginnings Senior’s Home in Yarmouth. Aside from her parents, Margaret was predeceased by her husband, Douglas C. Jackson; a son, Michael C. Mallett; a grandson, Douglas Mallett; sisters, Mary Doucette and Muriel Hamaty; brothers, Everett Mallett and John Mallett. Cremation has taken place under the direction of H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, 29 Albert St., Yarmouth, where a memorial service took place at 2 p.m., Wednesday, May 8, Rev. A. D. “Bill” Newell officiated. There was a visitation for one hour prior to the service. Inurnment took place at the Yarmouth Mountain Cemetery Columbarium, Parade St., with her husband.
