SMITH, Luella Edna – 94, of Villa St. Joseph du-Lac, formerly of Port Maitland, Yarmouth Co., passed away peacefully on May 30, 2011 at the Villa. Born December 17, 1916 in Head of Millstream, Sussex, N.B., she was a daughter of the late Charles and Hannah (Frazee) Hayes. Luella was a member of Port Maitland Wesleyan Church. She was retired from Yarmouth Regional Hospital CSR Dept. She was a loving mother and grandmother, and will be missed by daughter, Glenna Smith, Yarmouth; sons, Bennett (Carol) Smith, Cole Harbour; Kenneth (Ginnie) Smith, Quispamsis, N.B.; brother, Lloyd (Bunty), Saint John, N.B.; seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and three great great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by husband, Bernard; nine brothers and eight sisters. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Yarmouth. Visitation took place Thursday, June 2 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service was held Friday, June 3 at 2 p.m. from Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel, Pastor Dale Robertson officiated. Interment followed in Port Maitland Beaver River Cemetery. Donations in memory may be made to Port Maitland Wesleyan Church or Gideons International in Canada.
