LORRAINE BERNADETTE SELANDERS
June 6, 1946 – August 26, 2009
Lorraine was born on June 6, 1946, in Val Marie, SK. She was raised, went to school, worked and lived in Val Marie her entire life. Lorraine was married to Gail Selanders on October 1st, 1966 and they had 3 children, Shawn, Trevor and Serese. Through the years she worked at a number of jobs, but her main role was Superwoman. Juggling time raising kids, baking, gardening, keeping house and working at the Esso office with Gail was part of a typical day. Lorraine dedicated herself to her family, there was nothing more important. She filled her family’s lives with vacations, camping, swimming lessons and attending as many sporting events as possible, regardless of which town they were in. She was a devoted and loving grandmother, each grandchild was precious held a special place in her heart. She kept in close contact with her brothers and sisters, phoning and writing each one. She was exceptionally close with her mother Anna and Aunt Rose, spending countless hours with them through all the good years and becoming a tireless caregiver in the final years. Typical of Lorraine as she always gave more of herself than she took. Lorraine was predeceased by her parents, Joe and Anna LeBlanc; mother-in-law, Delphine Selanders, as well as numerous aunts and uncles. Left to cherish her memory are Gail, her husband of 42 years, her children Shawn (Lori, and children Jordan, Jarod, Kyle and Adam) Selanders; Trevor (Laura, and children Graydon, Nicholas and Vaughn) Selanders; Serese (Mark Koch) Selanders; brothers Roger (Helga) LeBlanc, Paul (Lori Adams) LeBlanc; sisters Mary Anne White and Mariette (Dennis) Krawec; father-in-law, Keith Selanders; brother-in-law, Gary (Debbie) Selanders; and sister-in-law, Joy (Paul Emile) LeBel; as well as nieces, nephews and many close friends. We will love you forever, we will like you for always, as long as we our living, our Mom you will be.
