Jessie Hillman
HILLMAN, JESSIE HOPE - The death of Jessie Hope Hillman of Fredericton, NB, occurred at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on Sunday, June 5th, 2011. Born in Walton, NS, she was the daughter of the late George and Emma (Greenough) Robinson and the wife of Franklin Hillman and last surviving member of her immediate family. Jessie attended high school in Nova Scotia and upon graduating she attended Business College. She later worked as a secretary in Halifax, Montréal and Fredericton. She later married Franklin Hillman in 1956 and they recently celebrated their 55th, anniversary on May, 26th, 2011. She was a long time member of Brunswick Street Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Harriett Clarke Women’s Mission Society and the Get- together Club. Jessie had a great passion for doing handcrafts as well. She is survived by her loving husband Franklin; brother-in-law, Wendell (Nancy) of Fredericton and many nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; great great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; three sisters and six brothers.
There will be no visitation by family request. The funeral service will be held at Brunswick Street Baptist Church on Thursday, June 9th, 2011 at 11:00 am. Rev. Dr. Terry Atkinson will officiate. Interment will be in the Hillman Cemetery. For those who wish, memorial tributes may be made to Brunswick Street Baptist Church, Harriett Clarke Women’s Mission Society, the Get- together Club or the charity of the donor’s choice.
