Wilmer McIntosh

McIntosh: Wilmer "Willie" James McIntosh, age 82, of Swift Current and formerly of Hazlet, passed away May 30, 2011 at Cypress Regional Hospital. The Celebration of Life Service was held Friday, June 3, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. from the Hazlet Community Hall, Hazlet Sk. The Interment Service took place at Memory Gardens Cemetery with Pastor John Regier presiding. A Life Tributes was presented by Willie's daughter Kelli McIntosh Jenkins. Willy was born in Cabri, Sk on April 13, 1929. He attended the Happy Valley and Shackleton Schools. Willy worked in B.C. as a lumberjack to earn his stake for the farm. He was united in marriage to Deana Elkink on October 2, 1950 in Cranbrook, B.C. where she was an RN. The couple then returned to Hazlet in 1951 to farm and raise their family. They farmed until Willie was in his 70's. Willie served on the Hazlet Regional Park Board for 20 yrs and the Hazlet Credit Union Board for 12 years. In his spare time, Willie enjoyed playing baseball with the Idaho club, golf, hunting, curling, flying his Piper Tri-pace airplane with the "Flying Farmers" and especially fishing and spending summer at Lac Pelletier. He also enjoyed singing, dancing, and visiting with friends and family. Willy is survived by his wife Gerritdeana; children; Mike (Wendy); Bob (Bonnie); Scott (Deb) and Kelli (Blair); grandkids Missy (Rob); Tara (Mike); Chris, Cory, Connor, Emma and Mack; great granddaughters; Kennadee and Anna. He was predeceased by his parents Bill and Gladys McIntosh; daughter-in-law Cathy McIntosh and son-in-law Don Jenkins. Warren's Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
