It is with great sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of Angeline McDonald, age 72, on Tuesday, September 01, 2009, at her home, in the arms of her loving family. Angeline was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
Born in Reserve Mines on February 07, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Angeline (Burnet) McDonald. Angeline was a devoted member of St. Joseph’s Church in Reserve Mines.
Angeline was a member of the Carmelites, an organization which gave her a lot of spiritual satisfaction, and her work at home as a wife, mother, and nanny was also very rewarding to her. Angeline enjoyed doing many different crafts, and had a great sense of humor always being the life of family gatherings.
Angeline is survived by her loving husband of 48 years Harold McDonald; daughter Mary Jo (Dave) Jaques, Sydney, and son Ed, Reserve Mines; brothers, Thomas (Vivian), Glace Bay, Raymond (Theresa), Halifax, Edmund, Halifax, and Anthony, Glace Bay; sisters, Rose Roberts, Ontario, Catherine (Dave) Parsons, Halifax, Hannah Young, Germaine (Larry) McDonald, Rosella Murphy, and Annie (Harry) Smith all of Glace Bay and three loving Grandchildren Megan Jaques, Gerard McDonald and Bradley McDonald.
Angeline was predeceased by sisters, Mary Murphy, Julia Anderson, Antoinette Lannon, and brothers Roger, James, and Joseph.
Visitation will take place today September 03, from 7-9 p.m. and Friday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., in the V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home,16 Reserve St., Glace Bay. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2009 at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph’s Church, Reserve Mines with Fr. Andrew Gillies officiating. Interment in the parish cemetery. Reception to follow in the parish hall, directly below the church
