MacDonald, Edith Louise — 96, of Windsor, Hants County, formerly of Falmouth, Hants County, passed away Monday, May 30, 2011, in Haliburton Place, Windsor. Born on February 25, 1915, in Riverside, Hants County, Nova Scotia, Edith was a daughter of the late William and Emma (Fielden) Marsters. Edith is survived by sons, Clifford MacDonald, Upper Queensbury, NB, Laurence MacDonald (Carol Burgess), Falmouth, Hants Co., and Ralph (Shirley) MacDonald, New Russell, Lunenburg Co.; daughters, Janet (Ron) Fahie, Aylesford, Kings Co., and Joan MacDonald, Halifax; nine grandchildren: Stephen (Valerie) MacDonald, Connie (Herbie) McLellan, Elsie MacDonald (Tony) Parr, Robert (Denise) MacDonald, Curt (Shelley Wilcox) MacDonald, Bill MacDonald (Lisa Gray), Heather (Jon) Swinamer, Christine Fahie (John MacLeod), and Leanne Fahie; nine great-grandchildren: Thomas MacDonald, Kyle McLellan (Lisa Wood), Tyler McLellan (Alison Buffett), Tiffany MacDonald, Alicia MacDonald, Zachary MacDonald, Ethan MacDonald, and Alex MacDonald; also Ella Swinamer; step great-grandchildren: Jordon Gray and Maddison Gray; two great-great grandchildren: Livia Wood-McLellan and Seth McLellan; brother, Ted (Lulu) Marsters, Stanley, Hants Co.; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, William and Emma (Fielden) Marsters, she was predeceased by her husband of 31 years, William “Bill” Wallace MacDonald (1966); daughter-in-law, Zeenia MacDonald; brother, Preston Marsters; and sisters, Olive Marsters and Daisy Rhodes. Cremation has taken place under the care of Lindsay’s Windsor Funeral Home, 194 King Street, Windsor. Visitation was held from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, June 1, in Lindsay’s Windsor Funeral Home. Funeral service was 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 2, 2011, in Lindsay’s Windsor Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Heather MacDougall officiated, followed by a reception in the Lindsay Family Reception Centre, 184 King Street. Interment was in Centre Falmouth Cemetery, Town Road, Falmouth. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Edith were requested to be made to Haliburton Place (HCH), the Canadian Cancer Society or the Juniper Grove United Church, Falmouth.
