November 30, 1946 - June 2, 2011

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Tom Mangan, husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, after a long and courageous battle with prostate cancer.

Survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Moe, daughters Teena and Kim Mangan (Frank Faraone), grandchildren Thomas, Lucy and Francesca, brothers Colin (Connie) and Dan.

Pre-deceased by his parents, Mike and Kay Mangan.
Tom was born in Nelson, BC and grew up in Penticton, BC. He attended St. Joseph's School and Penticton Secondary, where at the age of sixteen, he met Moe. They were later married in Penticton in 1968.

After graduating in 1966, Tom began what was to be a long and successful career with CIBC, which took the family to various BC communities. After retiring in 1999, Tom and Moe returned to Kamloops, where Tom enjoyed many happy hours pursuing his passions of golf, travel, and community service. Over the years, Tom was a valued member of Kinsmen, Kamloops Daybreak Rotary Club, Kamloops Golf & Country Club and Rivershore Golf Club. He enjoyed his time serving on the Board of Directors of the Kamloops Blazers and was instrumental in the success of the 2010 Kamloops World Masters Games. Tom's zest for life, his compassion for his friends and acquaintances, and his inborn desire to do the right thing in whatever the circumstances, leave all of us with the memory of a man who will be greatly missed. Tom was a true friend to many and a wonderful human being. He always felt that his most important success in life was his family.

A Memorial Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Cathedral on Friday, June 10, 2011 at 1:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Tom's memory to the Kamloops Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Memorial Hospice Home, 72 Whiteshield Cresc., Kamloops, B.C., V2E 2S9 would be appreciated.
