PICTOU – It is with sad hearts we announce the passing of Edna Jean MacNeil, 65, of Maple Street, Pictou, on Sunday, June 5, 2011.
Born in Pictou, she was a daughter of the late Sam Cheverie and Jean Cheverie Doiron.
She is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Reginald “Ike”; daughter, Shari (Gary) Redmond, Pictou; sons: David (Alice), Calgary; Steven (Nancy), Dieppe; Dean (Angela), Pictou; grandchildren: Shae-Lyn and Riley Redmond; Jared, Zander, and Hunter MacNeil; Melanie, Patrick and Caleb MacNeil.
Edna is also survived by her sister, Catherine (Harold) Madore, Pictou; brothers: George (Sharon) Cheverie, Pictou; Pete (Faye) Cheverie, London, Ontario; Simon “Dinny” (Laura) Cheverie, St. Thomas, Ontario.
She was predeceased by daughter, Shan Marie.
Visitation will be held 6-9 p.m. Wednesday in McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou. Funeral Mass will take place 11 a.m. Thursday from Stella Maris Roman Catholic Church, Pictou, with Father Gerald Campbell officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Reception to follow in the church hall.
Donations in her memory may be made to the I.W.K. Children’s Hospital, Halifax.
