It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Norma Louise MacLeod on Tuesday, June 7, 2011 after a brief stay at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Palliative Care Unit.
Born in Sydney, she was the daughter of the late Malcolm ‘Mack’ and Kathleen (Ross) MacLeod.
Norma was a life member of the Progressive Conservative Party of Canada, and Nova Scotia as well as life member of the I.O.D.E (DesBarres Chapter) and in recent years, she enjoyed being a member of Cape Breton Writers’ Club.
Norma loved well and laughed often. Her summers spent at Ben Eoin were very special times shared with family and friends.
She was predeceased by her loving husband, Doug MacLeod of North Sydney.
She is survived by her four sons, Doug (Jackie), Halifax, Andrew (Bobbi) Alberta, Peter, Halifax, Daniel Bruce, Australia; granddaughters, Sophia and Taylor, Halifax, Bronte, Australia; brother, Donald MacLeod, Sydney; sister Eileen Norton, Kentville.
She will be lovingly remembered by her entire family and longtime family caregiver, Bille Stubbard.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Norma may be made the Cape Breton Regional Palliative Care Unit or the S.P.C.A.
Cremation has taken place.
A graveside service will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, June 25, 2011 in Hardwood Hill Cemetery.
