James Ernest Mombourquette, 84, L’Ardoise, Richmond Co., died Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2009 in Strait Richmond Hospital, Evanston.
Ernest was born in L’Ardoise, Richmond Co., a son of Alexander and Margaret (MacNeil) Mombourquette. He was a sign foreman with the Dept. of Transportation, St. Peter’s, a member of Holy Guardian Angel parish, L’Ardoise, and a member of Royal Canadian Legion Branch 110, L’Ardoise.
Ernest was a veteran of the Second World War, served overseas with the C.B. Highlanders regiment, and Hastings & Prince Edward regiment.
He is survived by his loving wife, Victoria (Martell) Mombourquette; son, Elmer (Margaret), Sheet Harbour; sister-in-law, Theresa Mombourquette, Port Hawkesbury; granddaughter, Kelly; great-granddaughter, Emily.
He was predeceased by brothers, Morton, Elmer and Herman.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of funeral mass at 10 a.m., Saturday, in Holy Guardian Angel Roman Catholic Church, L’Ardoise with Fr. Mariadoss Lourdusamy officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery.
