William "Bill" Mills
1929-2011
Peacefully at the Sackville Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, May 31, 2011, William "Bill" Mills, of Dorchester passed away at the age of 82, with his family by his side.
Born in Cape Breton, he was a son of the late Oliver and Lillian (Leblanc) Mills.
Bill loved animals of all kinds. An outdoorsman by nature, he and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved his family and especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He will be dearly missed by his wife 63 years, Connie (nee Tower); four daughters, Patricia (Edward) Wilson, ON, Donna Dawson, Dorchester, Carol (Harvey) Saulnier, Dorchester, Paige (Jack) Irving, Dawson Settlement; seven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren; one brother, Lloyd and two sisters, Genesta Wry and Violet Ward; many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Bill was predeceased by a brother, Sidney and a sister Marcella MacQueen.
The funeral service was held at Jones Funeral Home on Friday, June 3, 2011, officiated by Pastor Morris Mills. Some personal memories were shared, and Psalm 46 was read by Bill’s daughter Paige Irving, while musical selections were The Old Rugged Cross and In the Garden. Pallbearers were Harvey Saulnier, Jack Irving, Paige Irving, Stirling Hall, Bill Long, Travis Saulnier, Honorary Pallbearers were Larry Mills and Adam Hall. Burial was held at the Dorchester Rural Cemetery.
