Passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 3rd, 2009, George Coleman at Western Memorial Regional Hospital at the age of 83 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his family: nephew: James “Jim” and his wife Marilyn, Corner Brook; grandnephew: David, Corner Brook; sisters: Marilyn Bennett (Paul), Ontario, Rita Tackett, Kentucky and Florence Turner, Nevada; caregiver: Ivan Bennett, Corner Brook, as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Predeceased by his parents, Edward and Jane Coleman; sisters: Catherine, Anna, Sarah, Mary and Ruth; brother: William; brothers-in-law: Henry Tackett and Thomas Turner. Visitation will take place from Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Marks Avenue on Friday, 2-4 and 7-9:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, September 5th at 10:30 A.M. from All Hallows Parish, Humber Road, with Father Ambrose Hynes officiating. The interment to follow at Mt. Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Bay of Islands SPCA or to the charity of one’s choice.
