Elizabeth “Betty” Anna Newburgh went to be with the Lord on June 2, 2011, in Swift Current, SK. Betty was born on January 5, 1941, in Swift Current, to Isaac & Margaret Fehr. Betty married Pat Newburgh on January 9, 1970. This union was blessed with two children, Jennifer Lynn and Lawrence Matthew. Where Pat was, Betty was right behind him, they were inseparable. Betty always looked forward to Thursdays, which was spent with her mom doing various things. She was an avid knitter, lovingly making many towels and facecloths for Operation Christmas Child. She loved going to garage sales, collecting hummingbird ornaments, and doing word puzzles. She also enjoyed going to model train shows, where she visited with many friends. Recently, Betty started volunteering at the food bank with Jenn. Most of all, Betty loved family times when everyone was together. Betty is survived by her husband of 41 years, Pat; daughter, Jennifer (Gene) Batdorf; son, Lawrence (Tasha) Newburgh; her mother, Margaret Fehr; a sister, Hilda Dyck; sister-in-law, Liz Fehr; brother-in-law, Tom Newburgh; and many nieces, nephews, and their families. Betty was predeceased by her father, Isaac Fehr; in-laws, Ernest and Marion Newburgh; and by her brother, Peter Fehr. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. The Funeral Service was held on Monday, June 6, 2011, at 10:30 am from the Christian Fellowship Church at Rhineland with Pastor Alvin Buhler officiating. “The River” and “Amazing Grace” were sung by the congregation, under the direction of Luanne Schultz and pianist, Dianne Janzen. Scripture was read by Pastor Tim Knelsen with family tributes shared by Verna Buhler. Ushers were Curtis Heinrichs, Harry Friesen and Arnold Andres. The Interment was held at the Rhineland Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers, Lawrence Newburgh, Gene Batdorf, Tyler Wall, Jason Dyck, Nathan Adrian and Art Olfert.
