Passed peacefully away September 1, 2009 at the Dr. Leonard A. Miller Centre after a long and courageous battle with cancer, age 73 years. She is predeceased by parents Maxwell and Mary (Mollie) Cooper, brothers-in-law Herbert Squires Jr. and Frank Barron Jr. Leaving to mourn their loss two daughters and one son: Susan (Cooper) Dunn (Paul Cleary), Colleen Fowler (Stephen) and David Jagt of Langley, B.C.; grandchildren Angela, Andrew, Alicia Dunn and Maggie Fowler; also three great-grandchildren and five sisters: Marry Kosztandy (Stephen), Shirley Cofield (Don), Doreen Squires, Marina Pope and Christine Barron. Remembered too, is her very close friend of 40 years, Betty (Blackwood) Lundrigan and friend Emily King, along with a large circle of nieces, nephews and friends. The family would like to give special thanks to the Palliative Care Unit at the Dr. Leonard A. Miller Centre and the Druken family. Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue, Friday, September 4 and Saturday, September 5, 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A memorial service will take place on Monday, September 7 at 2 p.m. from the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 168 MacDonald Drive with interment to follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. No flowers by request, donations may be made in Betty’s memory to the S.P.C.A. because as Betty always said, \"I have a great love for animals.\"
