Passed in: Nova Scotia, Canada
Passed on: June 9th, 2011

TRENTON – Christene Helene (Murray) MacKay, 96 years young, formerly of North Main Street, Trenton, passed away Thursday, June 9, 2011 in Glen Haven Manor, New Glasgow.
Born February 24, 1915 at Point 44, Pictou County, she was a daughter of the late Andrew Scott Murray and Amanda (Allan).
She was predeceased by her parents, seven siblings and her beloved husband, Lt. Col. Roderick F. MacKay.
“Teenie” lived in Trenton until she married “Rod”. After he returned to Canada following World War II, she moved around the world with her career army officer husband and their two daughters, Rose Marie (Warren) and Adele (Graeme Rodden). Upon Rod’s retirement from active duty in 1963, they returned to the family home in Trenton. Chriss was involved in the United Church UCW and for years was a firm supporter of anything to do with children. She was the ultimate wife, homemaker, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, mother-in-law and aunt.
She is survived by her daughters, five grandchildren: Cathy (Mike Kollar), Erika Hallot, Stephanie (Jean-Paul Lamoureux), Amanda (Campbell) and Kevin Hallot (Amor Bagu). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
She had fun watching her great-grandchildren Jack and Camryn grow and was pleased to know that her second great-grandson Julian Roderick had arrived safely to Kevin and Amor. She will be missed by all for her sense of humour. Her loving manner will remain forever in our hearts.
At her request there will be no visitation and a family service will be conducted by Mr. Fergie MacKay, at the R.H. Porter Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Burial will be in MacLellans Mountain Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations to a children’s charity of choice may be made in her name.
