John grew up in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan working on Model T Fords in his spare time and working summers on the family farm. He had a wonderful childhood.
His life was forever changed when he met a beautiful nurse, Joan Patricia Heisler, in 1948. They married in 1952 and made their dreams come true. Together they gave their four boys a magical childhood.
A graduate in Commerce from the University of Manitoba, John had a distinguished career as Marketing Manager for CGE in Canada, President of Proctor Silex and President of Cashway Lumber. Although John’s business accomplishments were tremendous, his love and focus was always his family. He was a skier, hockey player, swimmer, pilot, boat captain, scuba diver, tennis player, author, storyteller and altogether a truly amazing man. John recently contributed two articles to the Moose Jaw Times, a story of the “Model T†and his stories as a sleeping car conductor. John loved Moose Jaw.
