The death occurred at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Friday, Sept. 4, 2009, of “Don” Richard, of Arcona Street, Summerside, aged 83 years. Veteran of the Second World War. Born in Lawrence, Mass., he was the son of the late Benjamin and Angelina (Aucoin) Richard. Survived by his children, Sharon (Henri) Poirier, Allen, Jimmy, Darrell (Janice), Cathy, Diana Murray, Tom (Debbie), Gerry (Joan) and Paul, by 21 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and by a sister, Mae. Predeceased by his wife, Yvonne (Arsenault ) Richard, and a sister, Pearl Arsenault, and by several other extended family. Resting at the Moase Funeral Home, Summerside, where funeral service will be held on Monday at 10 a.m. Interment in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Summerside. Visiting hours Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. only. Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated. Members of the Summerside Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion, will hold a Service of Remembrance, at the funeral home, Sunday at 1:45 p.m.
