The death occurred peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Friday, June 10, 2011, of Alphonse “Poncho” Arsenault, of Urbainville, aged 74 years. Born in Egmont Bay, he was the son of the late Amédée and Évangéline (Arsenault) Arsenault. Survived by his beloved wife and best friend Rita (Gallant) Arsenault; son Kevin (Christine) Arsenault; daughter Tammy Gallant (Duane Gallant); grandchildren Tyson and Chloé Arsenault, and Zack and Jonah Gallant; brothers and sisters Joe (Carmella) Arsenault, Sylvina (René) Richard, Elva Gallant, Albain (Loretta) Arsenault, Alfred (Janita) Arsenault, Ernest (Eva) Arsenault, Leonard (Diana) Arsenault, Alice (Bill) Burbine, Raymond Arsenault (special friend Doris Gallant), Elmer (Merie) Arsenault; sisters-in-law Erma (Leo) Gallant, Claudette (Melvin) Gallant, Simone Gallant, Phyllis Gallant, Yvonne Gallant (Mike Gallant), and special friend Jo-Ann Duncan. Predeceased by his brother-in-law Raymond Gallant; sister-in-law Leona Arsenault; and nieces Karen Arsenault and Cindy Gallant. Resting at the Moase Funeral Home, Summerside, until Tuesday, then to St. Philippe and St. Jacques Church, Egmont Bay, for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment later in St. Philippe and St. Jacques Church Cemetery, Egmont Bay. Visiting hours Monday from 7- 9 p.m. Memorial donations to the Integrated Palliative Care Association or the Wellington Fire Department would be appreciated.
